Publishing public Facebook data via the Facebook Graph API

I am hoping to create a web app that does the following:

  • Every hour, retrieve post titles, links, and top comments from around 50 public Facebook pages. This would be done via cron.
  • Publish some of those titles, links, and top comments on my own site.

I am conflicted as to whether this meets Facebook's terms.

On one hand, the Facebook Statement of Rights and Responsibilities says: "When you publish content or information using the Public setting, it means that you are allowing everyone, including people off of Facebook, to access and use that information, and to associate it with you". I assume this applies to public pages.

On the other hand, Facebook has Automated Data Collection Terms that state: "You will not engage in Automated Data Collection without Facebook's express written permission."

The Automated Data Collection Terms use the following as examples of automated data collection: "harvesting bots, robots, spiders, or scrapers". Does the Facebook Graph API apply here? Or does the web app described meet Facebook's terms?

You need to login account before you can post.
