Installing apache2 on ubuntu 16.04

I do uninstalled and removed apache2 cleanly by following steps:

  1. $ sudo service apache2 stop
  2. $ sudo apt-get purge apache2 apache2-utils apache2.2-bin apache2-common
  3. $ sudo apt-get autoremove
  4. $ whereis apache2
  5. $ sudo rm -rf /etc/apache2

then I tried back to install apache2

$ sudo apt-get install apache2

but response was like below

Package apache2 is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source

E: Package 'apache2' has no installation candidate

even I was not able to update any packages,can anyone help me to get out of this. I will be thankful for you!
