ID connection of fb post to comment, and connection of comment to comment(nested)

I'm attempting to gather data on our company fb page. To that end, I can pull posts, comments and any of the fields that I want or have access to by setting it up in the GraphAPI and using the getCode button. That part is fine.

My understanding is that the ID field is a combination of parent and child node. So posts it's pageID_postID, and for comments it's postID_commentID. Assuming this is correct, I am attempting to gather comments that are made in response to a comment (nested). What I found is that the id of this nested comment has a reference back to the post that the original comment. postID_nestedCommentID.

I did see that posts have object_id fields that I thought could be useful, but not on the comment level, only for posts. I thought it might be something I had to look at the commentID in the Graph API, but no object_id, just object, which didn't show me anything.

I know I'm missing something major here.
