Home Cores, processors, and cpu information?
Sharing the content of the file /proc/cpuinfo on two different machines - 1. processor : 7 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 63 model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2699 v3 @ 2.30GHz stepping : 2 cpu MHz : 2294.940 cache size : 46080 KB 2. model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2690 0 @ 2.90GHz stepping : 7 cpu MHz : 2893.028 cache size : 20480 KB physical id : 1 siblings : 4 core id : 0 cpu cores : 1 Now the problem is, I want to know cpu configuration of these two machines, which will include no of cpus, and the number of cores in each one. I am unsure on two things - Why does it not show the field 'cpu cores' in one of the above? If there are 8 processors in my machine, does that mean it can use any of them while executing and also, if each of these have further 8 cores each, does that imply total concurrent transactions possible are 8*8 ie 64?
